Life After Baby...

Hey everyone,
So, I've taken a mini break from my lovely little blog here...but I had good reason, I promise! My handsome little man, Mason, was born last month and as expected has my undivided attention. Jordan is being such a great big brother and I'm amazed at how close their bond is already. Mason just stares at him and smiles and Jordan's at the age where he can help out, so he rushes to bring me diapers and bathe Mason (I can't get him to throw out the dirty diapers though-he draws the line there!).

The delivery was pretty easy (don't hate me!). I went into labor and was admitted at 3am on a Friday morning, took a nap and watched a Real Housewives of Atlanta marathon in my hospital room, and by 12:30ish the doctors were like, "You ready?" To which I replied, "Umm..no!" But two pushes later and he was here at 1:06pm! CRAZY!! Seeing him for the first time was really overwhelming, I couldn't stop crying! And then my husband started crying (don't tell him I told you that!!). They put Mason on my chest immediately and he just stared at me (and I of course started crying again!). The doctor told us his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck TWICE (scary!) and  she whispered to me, "He's gonna be a lucky little boy!"

The whole hospital stay was fantastic, I swear I almost didn't want to leave! I had a HUGE room all to myself (nice!). The nurses were beyond sweet. And the food...Oh my God, the food! Soooo good! On the last night of your stay the hospital has what they call a "Couples Dinner" for the new parents, which I thought was sweet and I expected maybe some chicken or something for my husband and I. But when they rolled in silver trays of steak, baked potatoes, shrimp, cheesecake, ice cream and more, I was a happy happy girl!

Life at home has been an easy transition (again..don't hate me!). I was nervous about taking care of TWO kids. But my hubby only works 20 minutes away so he can rush home if I need him. And my family (mom, mom-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins) we all live 10 minutes from each other which has been a FANTASTIC help. When I was not up to cooking (which I wasn't...at all!) someone always brought some food over!

But I did miss blogging and chatting about hair, makeup, nail polish, etc, since I've been drowning in diapers for two months, lol. I'm excited for all the new products that companies have been contacting me about. And excited to show it all to you guys. And I've missed my blogger friends who've all been so sweet to check in on me while I fell off the face of the earth. Please bear with me as I'll try to get as many posts as possible done in between nap times...
