I'm Loving...Monogram Necklaces!

I'm a huge fan of anything monogrammed-clothes, bags, even hand towels! I think it just adds a bit of a personal touch to an ordinary item. After our son was born, my husband gave me a gold necklace with a pendant that had a simple "J" engraved on it. It's a necklace that I've worn every day since Jordan was born and it means so much to me. I have been seeing a lot of three-initial monogrammed necklaces lately and now I'm dying to get one...

1. BaubleBar Large Monogram Pendant, $152.

2. Charm and Chain Large Engraved Heart Pendant, $195.

3. Max and Chloe West Avenue Jewelry Oval Lace Monogram Necklace, $180.

4. My Name Necklace Colored Monogram Necklace with Double Chain, $29.95.

5. Moon And Lola Acrylic Monogram Necklace, $58.

6. Max and Chloe U Name It Dream Monogram Necklace, $50.

Manicure Monday!

I change my nail polish color every week and have begun to see the damage of using all the harsh chemicals so often. The constant application of polish and polish removers was starting to wreak havoc on my nails, making them dry, brittle and prone to breakage. Each time I tried to grow them longer, they would inevitably break at the tips! There are a lot of brands that claim to have the cure to nail breakage, but I've always been partial to Sally Hansen products because they work - as simple as that! When I came across these new products that promised to repair my damaged nails, I jumped at the chance to see for myself.

{The Miracle Cure absolutely has lived up to its name. My nails would peel, split, and break constantly but after using this for only a week, I could instantly feel and see a difference. My nails felt a lot harder and stronger. As instructed, I applied the Miracle Cure to my nails every other day. If wearing a nail color, it's suggested that you use this as a base coat, which makes sense because you want to protect your nail bed from the chemicals of any nail color.}

*How it works: the Micro-Mineral formula fills in the cracks and instantly strengthens nails to instantly stop peeling, sealing the nail plate and bonding nail layers together. It targets severe dryness with intensive moisture, natural proteins, and powerful antioxidants.}

{I will admit that when I opened the VitaSurge Growth Gel, I was very intrigued by the small beads inside the bottle. But these beads are actually filled with Vitamins A, C, and E to add tons of moisture to your nails. I applied the gel everyday over my bare, clean nails and massaged it in using the sponge applicator. I alternated between the Miracle Cure and VitaSurge Gel for a week. FYI, the formula applies clear on your nails, not green.}

*How it works: The multi-acive beads are infused with vitamins that treat nails for healthy growth. It instantly hydrates and conditions brittle, hard-to-grow nails.

{The Quick Care Growth Treatment was by far the most fun to use! I used this daily paired with the VitaSurge Growth Gel to get maximum results. All you do is click the base (like a pen) until the solution appears in the brush and apply it to your bare nails. Easy right?}

*How it works: The formula has triple proteins of soy, oat and wheat to help nourish short nails and help them grow. The addition of ginko, safflower oil, and keratin help to condition and smooth your nails!

Whether you use one of these products, or all three in conjunction as I did, you're guaranteed to see great results within days!

My Week...According to Instagram

I hope you all had a great week! The weather was actually warm here in NYC, I can't believe that it's almost March and we've hardly had any snow! I was actually able to put my boots away and wear flats- in February -can you believe it?! I also had a clothes swap at my mom's house which always turns into a madhouse of shirts and pants flying everywhere! All in all it was a pretty good week: I fed my Starbucks addiction, tried a fantastic new argan oil treatment for my hair, did a lot little bit of shopping...This weekend will be pretty uneventful (hopefully) so I can just kick back and relax!

DVF for Gap Kids!

Another designer collaboration? Yes, but this one is with Diane von Furstenberg!! You may have heard whispers of a DVF/Gap Kids pairing, but now we've gotten a sneak peek at the collection debuting online and in select stores on March 15. All the designs are bright, colorful, with fun bold prints-all things that little girls will love. The prices are a little steep for childrens' clothes in my opinion, with dresses at $68, but it is after all DVF so you know that the quality is going to be the best!

The collection is just in time for the warmer months and includes mini wrap dresses, shorts, rompers, printed tees, leggings, bathing suits, tanks, capris, and cute accessories like shoes, hats, sunglasses and bags.

What do you think of the DVF Gap Kids Collection? I have my eyes on some of the printed tees for myself...

10 Tips for A Healthy Pregnancy!

Pregnancy is a time to embrace the joys of creating a new life...and it's also a time when your hormones may in fact be driving you crazy!!

Dr. Erika

Dr. Erika Schwartz, a leader in bioidentical hormone therapy, disease prevention, and wellness, has been featured on just about every major media outlet including The New York Times, The View, Glamour, Shape, Oprah's Radio Network, and more! After caring for over 100,000 patients, she is a true expert in this field and successfully teaches women how to take better care of themselves. There is nothing more important than taking care of your health during pregnancy! (And eating pickles and ice cream while pregnant does not count as your daily intake of vegetables and dairy!)

Women seek Dr. Erika's care and advice when they are "sick and tired of being sick and tired." We've all been there! And if you don't have the opportunity to meet with her in person for a consultation, she offers other options to start on the path to a healthier life. On her site, DrErika.com you will find how set up a phone consultation, take an online quiz to evaluate your health, an online store to purchase supplements, or you can receive a free copy of her book when you sign up for the newsletter - all great ways to help you feel more like you!

Here are 10 tips from Dr. Erika to help you feel your best:

1. Don't treat pregnancy like a disease. It's normal and most of the emotions and physical changes you experience are normal.

2. You will experience many new symptoms and feelings that may cause alarm.  You really only need to consider calling or seeing a doctor if you have a fever, your water breaks or you start bleeding.

3. Pregnancy is a time of joy! Treat it as such. Eat well and don't worry about weight gain, but eat healthy foods so you don't have problems with diabetes which happens primarily if you have a genetic predisposition and eat unhealthy foods.

4. Pregnancy is a good time to learn more about yourself. Spend time looking at your body and watch the marvel of its change without fear. It's a wonderful time to enjoy watching your belly swell and your shoes get too small. Enjoy and don't be afraid, this is all normal.

5. Eat well. Vegetables, meats, fruit as much as you want. Don't go crazy with the limitations imposed by over the top fear mongers. All of us who already had kids before your generation had salami and bologna and still had you and you all came out normal.

6. Exercise. In moderation. Women who exercise have easier deliveries because their pelvic floor muscles are stronger and they can push that baby out faster.

7. Get some sleep! The more quality sleep time the better! As the pregnancy progresses you will become uncomfortable and sleep will not be as restful as you would like. And once you have a baby you are sleep deprived for years. So sleep now!

8. De-stress. Studies show that women who are stressed during pregnancy have smaller babies with all kinds of problems as they get older. Caress your belly and take deep breaths during the day so your cortisol levels are low and steady and you feel great all the time.

9. Don't worry about the rest of the world. Enjoy the one time in your life when you are the center of your life. Cherish the months, they pass all too fast.

10. Don't buy everything recommended. And don't worry about not being ready for the blessed event. Newborns can sleep in a drawer as easily as they do in a fancy crib. Don't get caught in craziness, you might miss out on enjoying the real treat!

New York Fashion Week 2012: Whitney Eve

Today is the last day of Fashion Week here in NYC (*sad face*). But yesterday I was invited by the lovely Ann, of Cult of Pretty and Holier Than Now, to attend the Whitney Eve show. The clothes were gorgeous and extra feminine with lots of lace, ruffles, sparkles, and floral print. But I, of course, had my eyes on the hair and makeup, which was really in tune with the girly theme. The models wore bright orange lips (perfect for Spring!), soft foundation, defined brows, and that hair...wow! While portions of the hair were slicked down, the side and ponytail were fluffed and teased to perfection. Backstage, the hairstylists created tight curls, unraveled, and brushed them out to create the wavy look. The nails were done by the team at Zoya with models sporting Maise ( a sheer turquoise blue base with reflective Mylar flakes that shift from green to blue), mixed with Kristen ( a muted grey/bluish hue). Loved the nails!! Congrats to Whitney on an amazing show!
