Gentle Children's Bath Products by Little Green

I've tried lots of shampoos that claim to be natural, safe, and "tear free" only to have my son cry as that same shampoo stings his eyes at bath time. So when I heard of the Little Green product line, I was very eager to try it out. The company was started by Carmen DePasquale, a grandfather of ten and renowned spa and beauty expert (with 40 years of expertise!), when he couldn't find safe and gentle products on the market.

The Little Green products are all dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, formulated for sensitive skin  and contain no parabens, allergens, or sulfates. (Love that!)

The Collection

Little Green Kids Shampoo & Body Wash: I love a product that does double duty! Packed with Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E, it moisturizers both hair and skin. And this shampoo IS tear free! (8oz. for $15)

Little Green Kids Nourishing Body Lotion: I apply this to my son immediately after his bath. With the dry winter air, he used to get really itchy even when I bought the expensive "organic" lotions. But this one has Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Aloe Extract and Oat Extract to keep his skin soft extra moisturized. ($8oz. for $17).

Little Green Kids Conditioning Hair Detangler: The Silk Proteins increase the hair's ability to retain moisture while the Aloe, Vitamin B5, Phytantriol, and Vitamin E aid in conditioning hair and preventing sun damage. (8oz. for $16).

Little Green Baby Nourishing Body Lotion: This moisturizer is extremely gentle for your baby's skin to heal, protect, and fight dryness. (8oz. for $17).

Little Green Baby Shampoo and Body Wash: Like the one for kids, this baby version is full of vitamins that gently clean your baby's hair and delicate skin. ($8oz. for $15).

These are my absolute favorite new go-to products! As a mom, I love that's it's safe and gentle for my little guy and now bathtime is filled with laughter. (No more tears!)

Clarisonic Mia Review!

So, last week I finally jumped on the bandwagon and ordered my Clarisonic Mia. I have been dying to get it for months and months but was hesitant because of the cost. It retails for about $119. But after reading positive reviews one after the other I couldn't hold out any longer, lol. Everyone was saying the MIA was "life changing", "the best thing they've purchased for their skin", "an absolute must-have". With declarations like that, how could I resist?!

I went online and searched hi and low for any coupon codes or discounts when I stumbled upon one that offered 15% off plus free shipping, giving me final total of $109. Not too bad. When my postman delivered the box, I swear, I nearly hugged him-I was so excited! That night, I washed my face with the provided cleanser and hit the power button. After one minute, the MIA beeped alerting me that time was up. As it buzzed and vibrated on my face, I was eager to see all of the makeup that my makeup remover missed. And boy was it alot. I could not believe how much makeup and dirt the MIA removed! That means that I've been going to bed with makeup still on my face (not good!)  Once I touched my face, it was SO smooth-and that was just the first day!

In addition to the MIA which only has one speed, there is also the MIA 2 ($149), which has two speeds. I personally like having one speed and find that it's very effective. The MIA is the smallest and least expensive and in my opinion does a fantastic job! As for the brush, it's super soft yet scrubs really well. And you're supposed to replace it after about three months.

They come in so many colors and patterns that it was hard for me to choose which one I wanted. I was tempted to get the leopard print but I ordered a hot pink one (of course!) And I am SO beyond happy that I finally purchased the Clarisonic. It really is a must-have and the best investment for your skin!

Blogger Spotlight!

I'm very excited to have the oh-so-fabulous Tammy of A Fendi Bag And A Bad Attitude as my first Blogger Spotlight (yay!). I met Tammy last year at a fabulous event, HERE, hosted by Fashion Bomb Daily and The Polish Bar of Brooklyn (FYI: Polish Bar is the place to get your minx manicures here in NYC!!). I love Tammy's site and I can't help but admire a fellow shoe fanatic like me!

Remember, if you want to be featured for the Blogger Spotlight, please read the requirements, HERE, and I'd love to feature you next!

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself, what do you do when you're not blogging?

When I’m not blogging believe it or not I am doing everything. I'm a full time Site Director for a learning program so I travel a lot to my schools (in New York, Houston & Denver) to implement my program in the public school systems. When I am not blogging, at work, or writing for other magazines (MissMean Shoe & Examiner) I am catching the latest sample sales and dining at some great restaurants in the city.

2. Why did you decide to start a blog?

I was always on the computer looking at blogs (while watching Sex & the City re-runs) when it just hit me… “Hey, why don’t you start your own blog?" Those who know me well know that I’m all about finishing my Masters program and working hard at my job, and starting a fashion blog was something that no one expected me to do.

3. There are so many blogs out there. How do you make yours stand out from others in the same genre?

I don’t like to post what everyone is posting about. I think for my blog I have to be creative... think outside of the box.  When I first started blogging I was quoting a lot of lyrics to go with my posts. I was using my love of music and incorporating it into my site. I also like to push the envelope a bit and be edgy. For example, to state how much I love shoes, MAC Cosmetics, or accessories, I'll refer to it as "shoe wh*re", "MAC wh*re", or "accessory wh*re, etc. I like to take my readers inside my mind.  This is where “A Fendi Bag And A Bad Attitude” came from- it’s catchy, it's different, it's me!

4. What are the top 5 blogs that you follow? Why?

FashionBombDaily- I need to get my daily fix of everything happening fashion. I met Claire, the founder, a few times and she is so refreshing and inspiring-I have so much respect for her!
FemmesWithBenefits- These girls (Kim, Sojo, and Asia) are FAB! It’s great to see a blog run by three females with three different personalities.  They are "females empowering females”… why wouldn’t you want to follow that?
Nina Garcia- She's been the Fashion Director of Elle, the current Fashion Director of Marie Claire and a fabulous judge on Project Runway... why wouldn’t I follow her?  She epitomizes fashion and has the answer to the hottest trends each season.  Everything she does gives me life and makes me work a little harder to get myself into one of those fashion tents.
Monica Rose- She's the BEST stylist (and not to mention, shes also the personal stylist to the Kardashian clan.) You may not like the Kardashians but you know you love and respect their style. Everything from their accessories to shoes comes from the styling genius of the “style god” Monica Rose.
MissMeanShoe- I am a “shoe wh*re” so why not follow a fellow "shoe-nista" who shares the same passion for shoes as I do! MissMeanShoe is my daily fix for everything shoes- from new sales to what my favorite celebs are wearing. I write for MissMeanShoe so you know my shoe game has to be crazy as well.

5. What 3 beauty products can you never leave the house without?
• My MAC concealer
• My MAC or Victoria’s Secret lip-gloss
• My compact make-up case

6. What do you love most about being a blogger?

I like the fact that I have an opportunity to write for my personal site and also get to do freelance writing for other magazines. I also enjoy attending events (amazing swag bags!) and I've also met some fabulous fellow bloggers… some who are now my really good friends.

*Be sure to check Tammy out at A Fendi Bag And A Bad Attitude! And let me know if you want your blog to be featured next!

Snow Boot Sale For Kids At Ralph Lauren!

On Saturday, we woke up to a blanket of snow here in NYC and my son wasted no time in running to the window asking if he could go outside and play. Last year I bought him a pair of snow boots from Ralph Lauren that he just loves (he often likes to wear them around the house with his Spiderman pajamas on!) I love the boots for him because they are extremely sturdy and come with a soft fleece lining insert that keeps his feet extra warm.  Since his feet have grown since last winter, I just pulled out the removable lining which now gives him more space and he can wear it for another year or two. While browsing the Ralph Lauren site yesterday I saw that a lot of their snow boots were on sale so I just had to share with you. Not only are they reliable and stylish but, most importantly, they're perfect for building snowmen and making snow angels! :)

                                                           For the Boys:
Vancouver EZ Winter Boot, $34.99.
Whistler Snow Boot, $34.99.
Vancouver Zip Plaid Boot, $39.99.

                                                                     For the Girls:
Fairfax Boot, $39.99.
Whistler Snow Boot, $34.99.

Vancouver EZ Winter Boot, $34.99.

Manicure Monday!

Happy Monday guys! Well it's rainy, cold with snow on the ground here in NYC, so maybe it's not such a happy Monday. I spent a good 30 minutes curling my hair to perfection only to have it flop once I stepped out the front door. This weather is driving me nuts!

But nevertheless, you probably noticed that the design of Beauty And A Baby has changed. I'm super excited to have worked with the fabulous designer behind A Beautiful Feather who did an amazing job and it turned out just as I wanted (yay!). I'm still working out some kinks, like setting up both a Facebook and YouTube page, but once they're up, I'll definitely let you know! I now have a Pinterest account (and if you haven't checked out that site, you must! I am officially obsessed!). And you can alawys still follow me on Bloglovin (so you'll know when I put up a new post), and check me out on Instagram where I post a lot of candid pics of my everyday life. What do you think of the new design? I hope you like it!

So, on to today's Manicure Monday...If you haven't heard already, Pantone has declared Tangerine as the color of the year. Every year Pantone picks a color which ultimately sets the trends in fashion and beauty. I've already noticed the color pop up all over so I decided to try a cute manicure that I saw recently. Two polish colors, a little bit of scotch tape and presto!

The Inspiration:

The Result:

I used Wet N Wild in Metallica and UNT Nail Lacquer in Fairytale Ending.

Here are some of my favorite tangerine polish colors:

1. China Glaze Neon Orange Knockout
2. CND in Electric Orange
3. Butter London in Jaffa
4. Deborah Lippmann in Lara's Theme
5. Essie in Orange, It's Obvious

The Complete Guide To Girls' Hair

I applaud you mommies out there that have daughters! Since I have a son, I've always been curious about what goes into caring for a little girl's hair. I was on the phone with a girlfriend of mine (who has an adorable 10 month old) and she said that when her daughter was younger it was surprisingly a lot easier, but now at almost one years old she literally has to prepare all sorts of distractions and toys to keep her from wriggling and squirming around while getting her hair done! Lol.

When I came across the book, Cozy's Complete Guide to Girls' Hair by Cozy Friedman, I was intrigued and thought it would be perfect for my friend to take a look at. Cozy Friedman, a mother of two, has been in the business for years so she knows a thing or two about taking care of kids' hair. Cozy's three salons, Cozy's Cuts For Kids, are located in NYC and filled with chairs designed like racing cars, toys, and books galore - all to keep your little one entertained. Fyi: celebrity clients include Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), Rosie O'Donnell, Cindy Crawford and many more!

And Cozy's Cuts is not just for the girls, if you have a little guy who is just dying to sport the latest Justin Bieber 'do, then Cozy's Cuts is the place to be! And OMG, for your little one's first haircut, they'll give you a certificate along with a lock of that "first cut hair". How cute is that! I know I still have my son's hair from his first cut which was very traumatic for me, I mean for him. :)

The book is a must have for mommies! It's filled with easy to follow illustrations and gorgeous photos to help you create the most adorable hairstyles for your little princess! Whether she has straight, curly, or wavy hair, split ends or dry scalp you'll find helpful solutions.

You can find Cozy's Complete Guide to Girls' Hair at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, or visit CozyCutsForKids.com for additional retailers.

Even if you're not in the NYC area, visit CozyCutsForKids.com where you'll find, expert tips on how to care for children's hair, quality hair products, and more!

Baby Shower

On Saturday my cousin, Nicole, had a fabulous baby shower for the upcoming birth of her daughter, Layla (can't wait!). Of course we had the required baby shower games, you know...who can drink out of a baby bottle fastest, who can guess the baby food while blindfolded...the usual, lol. My other cousin, Tamika, won the bottle drinking game because she cheated! You can witness her victorious excitement below! My uncle (Nicole's dad) gave the most beautiful and touching speech to welcome his first grandchild and there was not a dry eye in sight. It was so sweet and we were all in tears! We had a great time singing, dancing, and celebrating the (very soon!) arrival of our newest family member!
