Jamaica Vacay!

I just got back from a very relaxing and much-needed five day vacation in Montego Bay. It was really a family affair because there were literally almost twenty aunts, uncles, and cousins on this trip! My family is really close (literally and figuratively). The majority of us live within 10 minutes or less of each other so we love to always have dinner together, hang out together, and travel together.

We flew to Jamaica on Carribean Airlines and I make that point because I would like to use this as a Public Service Announcement that you should avoid that airline if you can. First of all, I understand that airlines are trying to fit as many folks on the plane as possible. I get it. But when I say the flight was cramped, I mean the flight was CRAMPED! I'm 5'2" and could barely squeeze my legs into the aisle. FYI: My hubby is 6'3" so you can imagine how comfortable he was in addition to his broken seat! On top of that, they gave us a hard time booking the seats we had already chosen online in advance. When we got to the front desk, they told us the seats we booked were no longer available (huh?) and that Jordan would have to sit alone in Row 6, my hubby in Row 20, and me in Row 27. C'mon! You don't mess with a hormonal pregnant woman, so needless to say I got that straightened out ASAP!! The customer service on the plane was almost laughable. Heaven forbid you wanted a blanket or cup of water! When you asked for anything you were met with an eye roll and a deep sigh. (I'm sorry, I paid hundreds of dollars for this horrible flight, the least I could get is a cup of water without the attitude). But that's just my little 'ol opinion.

The hotel on the other hand was FAN-TAS-TIC! We stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Hotel in Montego Bay and it was really one of the nicest resorts I've ever been to. Ever. Everything from the food to the rooms to the amenities were all top notch! They even had live entertainment each night, which was...ummm...interesting. Basically, it was a bunch of men dancing to 1970s hits while wearing very sparkly, very revealing tight pants. And the food...OMG, so delicious. We had a BBQ right on the beach where they served jerk chicken, snapper, rice and peas, curried goat...and on top of that there was a yummy buffet in the restaurants and a hibachi chef. I had a lot of fruit punch(no booze for moi!) but everyone else said the alcoholic drinks were pretty good. The staff was so nice and with the wave of your hand, drinks would magically appear. Ta-dah!

This was my last big trip before the baby arrives in December and we all had SO much fun!! My family is already planning next year's trip but traveling with TWO kids will be quite interesting...
