Manicure Monday! Candy Corn Nails

{The Inspiration}:

{The Result}:

What You'll Need:

~White nail polish
~Yellow nail polish
~Orange nail polish
~Top coat
~Scotch tape



Here's How:

Step 1: Paint your nails with the orange polish and let it dry. It has to dry very well or else it will be too wet and smudge during the next step. I painted mine the day before and just wore orange polish for the day.

Step 2: Apply a piece of scotch tape over the orange section.

Step 3: Paint the white polish above the tape line and let dry.

Step 4: Apply a piece of scotch tape over the white section.

Step 5: Paint the yellow polish above the tape line and let dry.

Step 6: Remove the tape and apply top coat.

*It's very important that each coat dries thoroughly before you apply/remove any tape!

This literally only took me about 20 minutes or so (after I finished fumbling with the scotch tape, lol). It's a lot easier to do than it looks and is a really cute way to celebrate Halloween. I'm not too big on costumes, so this will be my little way to participate in the festivities ;)

Calling All Sleep-Deprived Mommies: It's Kiehl's To the Rescue!

All of you new (and not-so-new) mommies at some point feel the lack of sleep take a hold of you. Whether your little one is 2 months old or 2 years old, those nights of uninterrupted sleep are few and very far between. Right? I remember the first few months when Jordan was born, I considered it a gift if I was even allowed to sleep for 45 minutes straight! Fast forward three years later...my going to bed at irregular hours combined with my borderline addictive caffeine intake has really put a damper on my skin...especially with the appearance of dark circles and under eye bags.

So recently, I clicked on over to the Nordstrom Rack site to check out any creams or potions to erase these under eye troubles. Whether I go to the actual store or just shop online, Nordstrom Rack is my ultimate go-to spot for fantastic deals on everything from clothes to shoes, and of course my beauty product goodies. And lo and behold, I came across these fabulous products from Kiehl's: the Midnight Recovery Eye Concentrate (1-1.7oz; $43-$68); Midnight Recovery Concentrate (0.5oz; $36); and Cryste Marine Firming Eye Treatment (0.5oz; $36):

They each contain natural essential oils that add lots of moisture to your skin. I have combination skin, which means that it can be both dry and oily! Lucky me :( So I'm always a little hesitant to add any oils and creams to my face. But I was so surprised that these Kiehl's products are not greasy or oily at all! They work at night while you sleep and ta-da, you wake up to soft, smooth skin! Love that!

Kiehl's always has so many amazing products, I really had to refrain from spending an insane amount of money in one sitting! (It's been known to happen, folks.)

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My cousin and I had very relaxing spa day yesterday to celebrate Spa Week. I'll be posting about it later this week, but until then..

Getting Pretty With The Fashion Bomb Daily

Last night I joined a group of fabulous beauty bloggers for a night out to "Get Pretty" with spa treatments and some good old fashioned girl talk. Hosted by Fashion Bomb Daily, the event was held at the popular nail spot The Polish Bar of Brooklyn. If you haven't checked out Fashion Bomb, you are missing out on the latest in chic urban style. And if you're in the Brooklyn area, you have to treat yourself to the amazing services at Polish Bar!

We were treated to massages, manicures, eye lash extensions, airbrushed makeup, champagne and yummy yummy cupcakes by GoodieBox Bake Shop! Good times! I had the chance to meet some lovely bloggers and chat about what we know best - beauty and fashion! I was also super excited to chat with a few fellow mommy beauty bloggers. And meeting Claire, the stylish force behind Fashion Bomb, was almost surreal since I read her site every single day and have been following it for years. She is the sweetest person ever (fyi, she's gorgeous!) and so incredibly down to earth! I was so happy to attend the event and meet some very lovely ladies! And, bonus, it was in part to honor Breast Cancer Awareness!! I couldn't have asked for a more fabulous night out!
